What is it?

The School of 1000 Yards focuses on the cartridges/calibers and rifle platforms that are designed for 1000 yard use.  The unique aspect of the School of 1000 Yards revolves around the environment, with a firing line that is located in the Backcountry Training Area and not a flat range, and  a specialized cirriculumn that progresses students through a lasting educational environment that culminates with the NRAWCU's Precision Academy's Masters Courses.

The School of 1000 Yards Precision Long Range (PLR) I introduces students to the art and science of Precision Long Range Shooting with classroom instruction, known distance gathering and unknown distance engagements.   PLR II and PLR III progress each student through range estimation exercises, precision high angle engagements, and alternate firing positions with increasingly difficult target engagements, all the while focusing on preparation for the Precision Academy's Masters Courses.
