2010 Off the Reservation Courses

We're leaving the flat range and going into the wilderness

It’s the beginning of a new decade and we’re going to take a different approach to our firearm instruction.  We’re going Off the Reservation.  We're focusing on the practicality of our training and we are taking our courses off the flat ranges this year.  We are going to put you in situations where you will use the training you came to receive.  This has been one of our lessons learned from our military days.  The minute you step off of the flat range and have to put into use what you’ve been practicing, everything changes.  So with that in mind, we’re going put you in the wilderness.  We’re going Off the Reservation. 

Our Off the Reservation Courses are 2-3 day training iterations located in the beautiful NRA Whittington Center’s backcountry.   This is 62-square-miles of wilderness training area – but we are still within minutes of the Whittington Center’s facilities.  So we get the best of both worlds.  Off the Reservation consists of classroom instruction - both field and formal, known and unknown distance engagements for the long rifles and scenario engagements for the small arms.  We focus on the reasons that you purchase these tools and will put you in the situations where you may have to use them in the real world. 

Whether you are utilizing a .338LM Target Rifle, .30-06 Hunting Rifle, DPMS Panther Classic Carbine, or Glock 19, we will challenge you on all platforms.  These courses are physical and there is a lot of shooting, moving, and communicating.    Even though we are working outside of the traditional range setting, our courses are structured in a way that everyone will leave with a strong understanding of the material presented.  Our instructors each have a broad background in both operations and instruction, so we are able to present the material in a cohesive manner that will stay with you after you leave.

We offer our students the opportunity to camp with us in the training area, or stay at one of the Whittington Center’s Founder’s Cabins.  All meals are included in the course tuition and we always eat well there.  There is also price adjustment for opting to staying in the cabins, so please inquire about this when you register.
